We are supporting a leading professional services organisation with the appointment of an experienced Accountant.

This is a hands-on finance role covering billing, accounts receivable, collections, work-in-progress management, revenue forecasting, tax compliance and financial controls. The successful candidate will work closely with senior stakeholders and timekeepers to ensure accurate billing, improve cash flow and minimise revenue leakage.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage billing cycles, including e-billing, and ensure invoices comply with engagement letters and client guidelines.
  • Oversee accounts receivable, debtor follow-ups, cash allocation and bad or doubtful debts.
  • Proactively monitor WIP and AR balances, escalating high-value and aged accounts.
  • Prepare monthly revenue, billing and collections forecasts.
  • Produce accurate billing, AR, ageing, write-off and provision reports.
  • Review VAT and other tax implications relating to client set-up and billing.
  • Complete bank reconciliations in line with internal policies.
  • Support financial audits and implement agreed recommendations.
  • Assist with time-recording queries, missing-time reports and client set-up.
  • Monitor write-ups and write-offs in accordance with firm policies.
  • Identify control gaps, process weaknesses and potential revenue leakage.
  • Support finance-system upgrades, testing and implementation projects.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A bachelor’s or postgraduate degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
  • Relevant accounting, billing, accounts receivable or revenue-management experience
  • Experience within an MNC, large corporate or professional services environment
  • Previous law firm experience is preferred
  • Knowledge of 3E accounting software would be an advantage
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience using ERP or finance systems
  • Strong knowledge of VAT, reconciliations and financial controls
  • Excellent stakeholder-management and communication skills
  • The ability to maintain accuracy and meet tight month-end deadlines
