We are partnering with a well-established, mission-driven institution in the region that is focused on advancing research, innovation, and societal impact across women-focused sectors.

 

The Director of Research & Innovation will play a critical leadership role in shaping and executing the organization’s research agenda, driving innovation-led initiatives, and supporting long-term institutional growth.

 

This individual will work closely with senior leadership and governance bodies to position the organization as a regional and global thought leader, particularly across areas impacting women, inclusion, and community development.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership & Innovation

  • Define and lead the research and innovation strategy, aligned with the organization’s long-term vision
  • Drive innovation frameworks, programs, and partnerships to enhance impact across women-focused fields
  • Identify emerging trends, opportunities, and research priorities to position the organization at the forefront of its sector

Institutional Growth & Transformation

  • Lead initiatives that support organizational transformation and capability building
  • Develop scalable programs that contribute to institutional growth and measurable societal impact
  • Champion a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Governance & Board Engagement

  • Work closely with senior leadership and board members to ensure strong governance, compliance, and strategic alignment
  • Provide regular reporting, insights, and recommendations at board level
  • Ensure all research and innovation activities adhere to best practice governance and regulatory standards

Stakeholder Engagement & Partnerships

  • Build and manage relationships with key stakeholders across academia, government, private sector, and non-profits
  • Represent the organization at regional and international forums, conferences, and partnerships
  • Foster collaborations that enhance research output, funding opportunities, and global positioning

Communications & Thought Leadership

  • Lead the development of high-impact communication strategies to promote research and innovation initiatives
  • Position the organization as a thought leader through publications, events, and public engagement
  • Support executive leadership with strategic messaging and external visibility

 

Candidate Profile:

  • 5–10+ years of experience, with a track record in research, innovation, or strategy-driven roles
  • Currently in a leadership position, with experience managing teams and driving cross-functional initiatives
  • Demonstrated success in strategic leadership, institutional growth, and organizational transformation
  • Strong experience in governance, compliance, and board-level engagement
  • Advanced academic qualifications (Master’s or PhD preferred) in a relevant field
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
  • Proven ability in stakeholder management across diverse and complex environments
  • An innovation-driven mindset, with the ability to translate ideas into tangible outcomes

 

Preferred Background

  • Experience in women-focused sectors, social impact, education, research institutions, or policy environments
  • Exposure to or involvement in sports-related initiatives, particularly in women’s sports, performance, or development programs

 

Salary: 35-45 QAR plus benefits
