Senior Analyst – Alternatives 

Role Overview
The senior analyst will be required to perform a variety of assignments including due diligence on new investments, supporting with sourcing new opportunities, investment analysis and financial modelling, market research, portfolio management including investment reporting and monitoring of existing investments, in addition to ad hoc tasks as required.
The focus of this role will be due diligence and portfolio management of funds and fund managers across private equity, infrastructure and Real Estate with a global mandate.

Due Diligence of New Investments
  • Support the Line Manager with conducting comprehensive investment analyses on new investment opportunities.
  • Take the lead on building high quality investment proposals and other reports within the target timeline, liaising with line manager as needed
  • Coordinate with external counterparties on documentation, investment structure, investment strategy, team track record, reference checks, and additional information requests and keep line manager updated
  • Conduct a very thorough due diligence process to ensure all key aspects of the investment have been assessed
  • Ensure all documentation and communications are recorded and reflected properly with Fund administration and in line with operating procedures
  • Assist the Line Manager in establishing investment opinions and recommendations, providing own insights, ideas, and thorough analysis to support recommendations
Portfolio Management
  • Support Line Manager in monitoring and reporting on NBC’s investments including preparing updates to executive management, IC and board as required
  • Lead on building, maintaining and updating financial models and ensuring they are accurate and error-free
  • Routinely monitor and report returns, exposures, compliance with SOPs and IPS
  • Ensure the accuracy of the reported positions under Fund Administration
  • Collaborate with the Line Manager to help develop investment strategy and generate investment ideas
  • Monitor and analyse portfolio characteristics, including risk, performance, and attribution, to ensure adherence to strategy and fund guidelines
  • Track expected investment deployments, capital calls and disbursements and liaise with Line Manager to ensure investments are performing in line with expected or agreed upon terms
Market Research
  • Provide updates on market news & information relevant to the Alternatives portfolio and its sub asset classes
  • Monitor global investments trends, as well as their correlations with local markets to identify factors that will impact NBC investments
  • Keep informed of economic/market events and collect on a periodic basis financial and investment information about fund holdings using various reports, economic forecasts, trading activities, financial periodicals, company financial statements and other financial reports and publications where applicable
  • Monitor markets for developments and new opportunities relevant and appropriate for NBC’s portfolio
Regular reporting, Team support, and Other duties
  • Extend the full support to the investment team in regular investment reporting and senior management updates
  • Support Fund Admin & Treasury Functions when required
  • Support other team members while they are on leave
  • Support with training new investment analysts and interns
  • Extend support to Risk and compliance department, external and internal auditors on any required information
  • Examine current processes for inefficiencies or enhancements; recommend improvements
  • Other duties as assigned
