We are seeking a Senior Deployment Engineer to join a highly technical engineering team preparing innovative software for market release. This is an opportunity to take ownership of the deployment side of a product, ensuring it can be installed, configured and operated reliably across a diverse range of customer environments.

The role is suited to an experienced, hands-on infrastructure engineer with a strong background in software deployment, cloud platforms and on-premises infrastructure. You will work closely with a strong engineering team, reporting to the Principal Engineer, helping establish the deployment capabilities required to support the product’s next stage of development.

The Role

You will be responsible for developing, executing and improving deployment approaches across public cloud, private cloud and customer-managed infrastructure environments. This includes working with containerised applications, server infrastructure and environments with restricted or no internet connectivity.

You will help address the practical challenges of deploying software across different cloud providers and infrastructure configurations, ensuring deployments are repeatable, reliable and suitable for real-world enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan and execute software deployments across cloud and on-premises environments.

• Work across major cloud platforms, including AWS, Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform.

• Support deployments in private, restricted-access and air-gapped environments.

• Work with server infrastructure, operating systems, networking and containerisation technologies.

• Develop and maintain deployment automation, scripts and supporting tooling.

• Troubleshoot complex infrastructure and deployment issues across different environments.

• Collaborate with engineering teams to improve deployment processes, operational readiness and product reliability.

Requirements

• 7–8+ years of relevant experience in software deployment, infrastructure engineering, cloud engineering or DevOps.

• Demonstrable experience deploying software across both cloud and on-premises environments.

• Strong working knowledge of AWS, Azure and GCP, ideally complemented by experience with alternative cloud providers such as Alibaba Cloud or Huawei Cloud.

• Practical experience with containers and container orchestration technologies.

• Strong understanding of server infrastructure and deployment dependencies.

• Experience with at least one server-side programming or scripting language.

• Exposure to air-gapped, isolated or highly restricted infrastructure environments.

• A hands-on approach to technical problem-solving and the ability to work independently within a collaborative engineering team.

This is an individual contributor position for a senior engineer who enjoys solving complex infrastructure challenges and building deployment capabilities from the ground up.
