UX UI Designer
Responsibilities
- Translate AI capabilities into intuitive, user-friendly experiences, ensuring transparency, trust, and clarity while managing cognitive load through progressive disclosure and human-in-the-loop interactions.
- Define and maintain scalable information architecture that supports product growth while preserving usability.
- Design cohesive user journeys across Web, Mobile (iOS/Android), and Desktop (macOS/Windows), balancing consistency with platform-specific best practices.
- Design beyond the ideal user flow by accounting for edge cases, including error states, empty states, loading scenarios, and partial data experiences.
- Champion ethical design principles, prioritizing user trust and avoiding manipulative patterns that compromise long-term engagement.
- Own the design process end-to-end, from concept development and user flows through wireframing, prototyping, and production-ready UI design.
- Balance brand consistency with native platform conventions, understanding when to utilise custom components versus native OS patterns.
- Design for diverse input methods, including touch interactions, mouse and pointer controls, and keyboard-first workflows for power users.
- Create responsive, platform-native experiences by understanding the unique ergonomic and technical requirements of desktop and mobile environments.
- Develop adaptive interfaces capable of responding dynamically to varying content types and user contexts.
- Elevate product aesthetics through visually engaging interfaces, polished user journeys, and meaningful micro-interactions.
- Contribute to and maintain a scalable Design System, including typography, colour palettes, components, and interaction patterns.
- Ensure accessibility standards are embedded throughout the product, adhering to WCAG 2.1+ guidelines.
- Build interactive prototypes using Figma and related tools to support stakeholder alignment and user testing.
- Apply motion design and visual hierarchy principles to simplify complex workflows and improve user comprehension.
c. Collaboration & Continuous Improvement
- Partner closely with Product, Engineering, and Leadership teams to align design solutions with business objectives and technical constraints.
- Participate in Design QA to ensure production implementations meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Leverage user research, usability testing, analytics, and feedback to continuously refine experiences and improve onboarding, retention, and usability.
- Advocate for user-centric design decisions and effectively communicate design rationale to stakeholders.
- Foster a strong design culture that balances user needs, business goals, and technical feasibility.
Qualifications & Skills
- 5+ years of experience designing digital products, with strong preference for candidates who have delivered Native Desktop Applications (macOS/Windows) or cross-platform products.
- Expert proficiency in Figma, including Auto Layout, along with experience using collaboration and whiteboarding tools such as FigJam or Miro.
- Strong UX design capabilities with proven experience mapping complex user journeys and designing for edge cases.
- Solid technical understanding of front-end development principles, including responsive design, grid systems, and the implications of custom interactions and animations.
- Deep understanding of responsive web design and native mobile platform conventions.
- Comfortable operating in fast-paced, early-stage environments, demonstrating initiative, adaptability, and a proactive mindset.
- Strong collaboration skills with experience working alongside engineering teams, managing handoffs, and documenting design decisions effectively.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to articulate design decisions clearly and confidently.
